"The experiences my children have received by becoming actively involved in Kuk Sool Won(TM) have been immeasurable.Members for the past two years, both boys have grown to enjoy the respected nature of martial arts and what it can do for your mind, body, and soul.As parents, we can see the accomplishments received not only on the mats but in the classroom, where KSW's discipline and focus spill over for a more confident and successful student.I recommend this form of activity for any parent looking to engage their child in physical activity that is not only fun but structured. The instructors are purposeful and understand the needs of your individual child. They meet the child on their level of physical activity and train them to accomplish more than the child expects. With expectations exceeded, my children comment positively on thier strengths and weaknesses. They are encouraged weekly to keep journals and to work on becoming better citizens and better martial artists."

Kuk Sool Won(TM) has been a wonderful experience for our daughter Mauriana. It has taught her responsibility and has made her a much more focused young lady. In the three years that she has been involved in the study of this martial art, her entire attitude about what she enjoys and what she likes to do with her spare time has changed. She really enjoys learning and practicing this art. This has helped her with her schoolwork by becoming a serious student and has helped her become a very disciplined person when it comes to those things she has to do at home. This has helped her to become an achiever and a leader. We are very excited every time she is in preparations for a competition or a belt test because she is very committed. M. Calhoun

My son John was diagnosed as autistic over 6 years ago. We struggled to find athletic programs where coaches were patient enough to work with him and allow him to enjoy sports. By chance we enrolled him in Kuk Sool Won(TM) in 2006. We were blessed to discover instructors who instill the discipline of martial arts as well as the patience to work with children with special needs.
Since enrolling him in Kuk Sool Won(TM) John’s mother and I have watched our sons self confidence blossom, his fitness improve, and marked improvement in his social skills. All of this has translated to improved performance in school behavior and academic work. John M.
"Kuk Sool Won(TM) has played a tremendous role in my development throughout high school and even into college. Kuk Sool Won(TM) has given me the mental and physical strength to work under pressure and to push myself to limits I never thought possible. It has been a worthwhile journey to be promoted to Jo Kyo Nim. I am putting my training into good use by teaching Martial Arts to children in Tampa, Florida. Which in turn is allowing me to pay my way through college by doing something that I love! Kuk Sool Won(TM) has giving me the 'yes I can' mentality. What else could you ask for?"

Our son David enjoys Kuk Sool Won(TM) and we have seen a definite increase in his athletic and coordination skills. I accompanied my son to the Kuk Sool Won(TM) tournament in Ohio and was so very proud of our school, Kuk Sool Won(TM) of DC. It was very clear to me and repeated often by the other instructors, students, and parents that I talked with from other states that Sa Bu Nim Marlin and Pu Sa Bum Nim Russell are excellent instructors that have prepared our students well! As a result, our school placed second overall with half the number of students that the first place team had! I am proud to be a parent of a student of Kuk Sool Won(TM) of Washington, DC!

We are very satisfied with this program accomplishments with our son. Its focus on discipline and respect are evident every day. After only 1 year my son competed in his first major tournament and came away with three 1st place finishes. The difference between his performsance and that of the other contestants his age was astounding. Thank you Sa Bum Nim.

Imani started KSW nearly three years ago, and since then she has developed a greater sense of self-confidence, respect for authorities, competitiveness, and dedication. KSW training has helped in other sports and non-athletic venues and I am very proud to have my daughter be part of this organization. KSW instructors are not just great teachers, they're great mentors and parents would be remiss not to check this martial art out! What can I say? Since I started KSW nearly three years ago, I have become half the man I am. This is to say that, I have not only been able to do things at age 38, that I couldn't at 18, but also, I've gotten in great shape shrinking down to my 18 year old physique as an added benefit. My three children started Kuk Sool Won(TM) during a summer camp session with the Maryland National Capital Parks and Planning Commission. I was hoping to give them the opportunity to have fun and meet new people in the camp. What they got was much more valuable. The instructors teach, not only the fundamentals of the Korean Martial Arts, but fitness, health, respect, responsibility and character. Kuk Sool Won(TM) has a complete, positive impact on their lives.
